Day 8: Reading “The Core” by Aki Hintsa and Oskari Saari

February 25th

Hello dear readers!

Today I would like to share with you the book which I think many of you may already know, because it is quite famous in Finland and all over the world now – it is “The Core” by Aki Hintsa and Oskari Saari.

For the last Christmas among my presents I got this book… Surprisingly easy and interesting to read! I was just lucky that the beginning of our diet coincided with obtaining “The Core” book.
This book is so fascinating that time runs very quickly reading it. I would advise not only dancers to read it. But as a dancer, guys I really recommend you to get it! In this book you would find common facts, which will help you to remember important life truths, both in life and sports.

Six core elements for a best performance:

As we can see the nutrition is playing a very important part of the core circle. We should not underestimate any of these elements if we trully want to get a great result in something we trully want! I feel lucky that I’ve reached a chapter about nutrition just when we started this diet. So many aspects and very good tips which I will definitely let into my life!

Today for the first time I felt myself much better in the last couple of days. Every day I use vitamins and protein drinks for vegans. I felt that my unexpected tiredness somehow slowly was fading away! It does not mean exactly that these supplements influenced me. I am more sure that it is a process of adapting or reaction of my body. Feeling that my nutrition habits are changing and the products I consume are changing with them.

For the rest of a day we spent training, training and once again training plus stamina then exercises. Oh, such a pleasant feeling when you are exausted but happy after a training!

Thereby I will just briefly describe what we had been eating this Monday.

Breakfast. Blend of oat and rye porridge in micro for both of us with Kaslink Aito oat milk. Coffee was only for me this morning! Anton has decreased his comsumption of coffee during the past week and now he tries to avoid it as much as possible.

Our dinner. Leftovers of turkey fillets and a baked potato.

Salad. Chopped red cabbage, swede (lanttu), chinese cabbage (kiinankaali), broccoli, sprouts, salad leaves and pilled cucumber.

Green Tea. I did not even suspect this unusual function of green tea. I have always believed that green tea is reenergising and refreshing. In “The Core” book it was a surpirise for me to learn that green tea is good to drink before bedtime.
It is known for its soothing effect.

A couple of posts back I wrote that me and Anton started to drink green tea in the evenings. And now we will continue to do it during our diet program!

Dessert. I have defrosted blueberries and sprinkled sugar on top and that was our delicacy for tonight! Good night all!
